1 cup regular macaroni
1 cup whole-wheat macaroni
2 cups low-fat milk
3 T flour
1/4 t mustard
1/4 t garlic powder
1/4 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
2 oz cream cheese
8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
1/3 cup cornflake crumbs or dry bread crumbs
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Preheat oven to 350ยบ. Oil a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Warm milk in a large saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add flour, whisking steadily until combined. Add mustard, garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire. Continue cooking until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low. Whisk in cream cheese until well blended. Add 1 1/3 cheddar cheese and stir until melted. Add macaroni, stirring until well coated. Pour into baking dish. Toss remaining cheddar with crumbs and sprinkle evenly over top. Bake until golden on top, about 20 minutes.
