Marinara sauce

2 T oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup onion, chopped
16 oz stewed tomatoes
8 oz tomato sauce
1 T sugar or maple syrup
1 t basil
½ t oregano
1 t parsley
1 t salt
1/8 t pepper

Sauté onion and garlic. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
